Alphabets and Scripts

Theban Script
Also called the “Runes of Honorius”, this script is traditionally used
to write in a witch’s Book of Shadows or Grimoire,
or to inscribe one’s Craft name on altar tools or ritual jewelry.

Enochian Alphabet
Reputed to be the angelic language first recorded in occult journals
by John Dee and Edward Kelley, Enochian is written from right to left,
and is used to interact directly with angels.

Celestial Alphabet
First created in the 16th Century by Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa
in his book ‘Of Occult Philosophy’. The Celestial Alphabet is
one of three languages included in Agrippa’s text.

Malachim
“Malachim” is a plural form from Hebrew (מלאך, mal’ach), meaning “angels” or “messengers”.
Derived from Hebrew and Greek, Malachim is the second language included in
Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa’s 16th Century ‘Of Occult Philosophy’.

Transitus Fluvii
Latin for ‘Passing Over the River’, the third alphabet is
derived from the Hebrew alphabet, and is the third script included in
Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa’s 16th Century ‘Of Occult Philosophy’.
